Good idea, with a new grandaughter approaching it is good to be reminded of these eat ideas. We my flock of grands and I, made a band and marched around the house the last rainy day, drove the dogs crazy!

    Here is one for you!

Another good one from an old teacher-
The old “What’s in there?”game, for concept learning, spatial, thought, and vocabulary-
    1) Take an empty small oatmeal box , discard plastic lid,
    2) Stretch ,(starting at the bottom of the box) one of your larger single socks, all the way over.. snipping the toe off so it sits properly, push the rest of the sock down inside the box. I have been using mine for 33 years, actually made it for a Child Development Project at Cal Poly.
Then use shapes, like the Fisher Price ones you use, or for advanced pull out your cookie cutters..letters. .numbers..
Start by showing the ones you will be putting in, have them close their eyes, then they get to put their hand in…..they have to feel and think about the shape, encourage with, ” how many sides does it have? Is is smooth, rough? What do you think it could be?”
    Happy Guessing!

I love that game, Melinda. I never thought of using a sock for around the canister. Who says you need to buy toys, the homemade ones are so much better…and they last a long time! 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing that great idea.
